QUESTION OF THE MONTH: NOVEMBER

20 November 2023

Hi, I am Davide and I am a recent customer of yours although I must congratulate you on the quality of your products.  I thought I'd ask for your help because I'm planning a week-long session in a large volcanic lake in early winter and I have no idea what bait I could use.
Can you give me some tips, thank you.

THE EXPERT REPLIES

Hi Davide,
thank you for the compliments, too good... let's come to your next session, the choice of location is excellent, as in these environments it is not impossible to catch some really important fish. With regard to the bait to use, I would like to propose a recipe that we have used in similar sessions with excellent results.

These ingredients mixed together in a container a week before baiting. Given the time of year and the fact that the water temperature may have dropped below 8/10°c, it is better to put betaine directly into the liquid food.

This will create a kind of fermentation within the mixture, and the betaine will help break the bond between protein and the few fats in the liquid food. The proteins will be much more soluble.

At the same time, I recommend preparing this flour mixture in advance:

One week's rest and you will knead according to this recipe:

It rolls and you get some really killer boilies, plus the liquid food left over you can use as a natural dip.
Be sure to keep us informed about your volcanic session. 😊
