High-carbohydrate, low-fat mix
Yellowsunny birdfood is a soft mix of various bird pasties, high in carbohydrates, low in fat and enriched with milk protein, all supplemented with vitamins. It can be used all year round in all fishing conditions.
Soft mash is an egg food that contains a slightly higher percentage of lipids than dry mash. The main difference between soft mash, or birdfood soft, and dry mash, or birdfood dry, is the consistency: the soft versions are often supplemented with honey and/or vegetable or animal fats. For some applications they are more palatable than dry mash, but they are also fatter, less protein and less stable.

Self-made makes you a 100% protagonist: it allows you to create something of your own, to learn about different compositions and to experiment with ever-changing mixes and ingredients. It's not an easy world, but as with anything, all it takes is a little practice. First-time anglers are often advised to start with simple bait formulations, such as basic mixes or 50/50 mixes, in order to learn the technique and get to know the world of self-made bait. When you become more familiar with mixes, you can start experimenting with slightly more complex and special formulas such as birdfood mixes.
Birdfood mixes are balanced foods as they contain carbohydrates and vitamins. They consist mainly of vegetable flours, e.g. corn or soya, and a portion of mash suitable for feeding birds. Their graininess is an important characteristic as it helps to give the baits a spongy effect.
